Creating an Avatar: Representing Yourself Online

one comment

Today, we are talking about avatars, and how you can create a representation of yourself for an online environment. Your task is to create an avatar, and then upload it into your Glogster account. There are a few ways you can do this. You can:

Go into Bitstrips and use your avatar from there (or, create a new one)

Use one of these avatar sites to make your own.

When you are ready to save your avatar to the laptop, and then move it up into Glogster, here is what you do:

  • If the site has a download image link, use that to download your avatar.
  • If not, then use the screenshot capture option on the Mac.
    •  click press Command-Shift-4.
      • A cross-hair cursor will appear.
      • Click and drag to select the area you wish to capture.
      • When you release the mouse button, the screen shot will be automatically saved as a PNG file on your desktop.

Go to Glogster.edu, and sign in.

  • Go to your Dashboard
  • Click on “Edit my Profile”
  • Use the “Change Photo” link
  • Upload your avatar
