Creating an Avatar: Representing Yourself Online

one comment

Today, we are talking about avatars, and how you can create a representation of yourself for an online environment. Your task is to create an avatar, and then upload it into your Glogster account. There are a few ways you can do this. You can:

Use Microsoft Paint and create your own picture.

Go into Bitstrips and use your avatar from there (or, create a new one)

Use one of these avatar sites to make your own.

When you are ready to save your avatar to the laptop, and then move it up into Glogster, here is what you do:

  • If the site has a download image link, use that
  • If not, then click “printscreen” key on the keyboard
  • Open up Microsoft Paint, and right-click “paste”
  • Use the select editing tool to outline your avatar
  • Click “new” for a new Paint screen
  • Right-click “paste”
  • Crop your screen around your avatar
  • Click “Save as” and name it with the extension of .jpg (this is important!)

Go to Glogster.edu, and sign in.

  • Go to your Dashboard
  • Click on “Edit my Profile”
  • Use the “Change Picture” link
  • Upload your avatar
