Hi everyone
This is Mr. Hodgson.
My summer has been great — I went to Maine for a week and my three sons, wife and I all did a lot of boogie-boarding on the waves. We had beautiful weather and explored the rocks all over the coast of Wells, Maine.
I taught two summer camps that might interest a few of you: one was focused on Claymation Movies and the other was focused on Creating Comics. It was a lot of fun and the kids made some interesting movies and comics.
My two older sons played baseball all summer, so I spent a lot of time on baseball fields, cheering them on. In fact, this past week, they have been playing “under the lights” at a field in Northampton (where I live) in some night games. It’s like being in Fenway Park, but with less driving (and fewer homeruns).
I am looking forward to reading what you have to write here, too. Show me some good writing — pay attention to capital letters at the start of sentences, periods at the end of your sentences and don’t use any text-messaging short cuts.
U understand? (ha)
Sincerely,
Mr. Hodgson

Hello Mr.H,
End of summer
This summer I’ve done many fun activities, including: going to Boston, Cape Cod with my cousins. Rhode Island with Josh and Jacob, Hampton Beach with friends, and probably my favorite yet being in my cousin Katie’s wedding! I was the Maid-of-Honor.
I hope to get better at math in sixth grade.

Dear Mr. Hodgson,
Hi my name is Tyler. I own a boat in Connecticut and I have been many places this summer like Block Island, Sag Harbor, Star Island, Watch hill and Greenport. I have been playing lots of football and my favorite NFL team is the New York Jets. I already went to a Jets pre-season game this year. I went fishing with my dad and I caught a 31 inch blue fish. When school starts I will bring photos in of the fish. I went to the Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT. I think I might want to go there for college. This year in six grade I want to get a lot better at math, have fun learning and have a fresh start.

Dear Mr. H,
I had a great summer with my family. I started my vacation at the Dan Kane Singers Camp there I was given a full song solo to perform in front of a large audience of over six hundred people. Next my family and I went to go see a Demolition Derby and the car my father was rooting for won. After that we had a blast going white water rafting. Since it rain a lot this summer the class three rapids were bigger than usual. I found myself being rescued by the tour guide as I almost flew out of the boat into the class three rapids. Good thing he grabbed me and pulled be back in. After a full day of white water rafting we drove up to Lake George where we stayed in an awesome hotel that had and indoor and outdoor swimming pool as well as Jacuzzi. The next day we went to the Adirondack Extreme Adventure Course. This place is a tree top adventure course, with five different challenges. Each challenge got harder and harder to complete. I almost finished the fifth and final level, but I became too exhausted to finish, although my older brother was the only one to finish all five courses. Even my Mother and Father took on the extreme challenge and only finished level four. We had so much fun that we want to go back again. I swam all summer long in my pool, ripsticked, skateboarded and rode my bike and hung out with my friends, I had a great summer, and I am looking forward to having a great school year.

Dear Mr. Hodgson,
This summer I went to Rhode Island for two days and stayed at this motel right next to the Misquamicut beach. It was sad to leave but soon after that i went to a Jonas Brothers concert with my friend Emily, my sister Haley, and my Dad. It was at TD Banknorth in Boston. Honor society, Jordan Sparks, and the Wonder Girls opened, it was an awesome concert! Also during the summer I did gymnastics at Roots, had friends come over, went over my friends, tried to convince my parents to get me a dog, fed some chipmonks, saw a bear, went shopping, caught some frogs, sunk in a sinkhole, caught a snaked and named it Peggy, found a bird named it Corn, roller bladed, made some movies, and swam! I wish that summer would never end.
From,
Lexi
